Rockford First - Two Services

Beginning February 5th, 2012, Rockford First added an additional service on Sunday mornings! We now have TWO services every Sunday, at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. This is an exciting time at Rockford First. As we are continuing to grow, there is a need to create more breathing room so that every individual, child, and guest enters a welcoming environment where there is room just for them! The best days are ahead at Rockford First!

Attend One. Serve One.

With the launch of an additional service, comes a great opportunity for every Rockford First attendee to participate in one Worship Service, and volunteer/serve in the other. Volunteering no longer means having to miss out on what God is doing through the Main Service! In order to make each of these two services happen, we will need over 175 volunteers per service....that's 350 individuals every Sunday! So, we are asking everyone to pitch in and be a part of the team!

Why are we adding an additional service?

To make room for those who have yet to make Rockford First their church home. Space considerations on a Sunday morning can make a guest feel uncomfortable. They may not have a convenient place to sit, have a hard time finding a parking spot, or find a large amount of congestion when checking in their children. An additional service allows for some breathing room and continued growth in our services!

Will both services be exactly the same?

Yes. The music, teaching, and creative elements will be identical for both service times.

Will there be childcare for both services?

Yes. Child care will be available during both services.

Can I attend one service and volunteer during another service?

Yes! We encourage everyone who is able, to attend one service, and serve/volunteer during the other.

Presently, there are hundreds of volunteers every week who serve in various ministries during the main worship service, and thus are unable to participate. Adding an additional service will create a way to volunteer during one service, while still having the opportunity to attend the other.

If I attend one service and volunteer during another service, what about my children?

We have strategically created a safe, fun and God-centered environment for your child during both services.

The following options are made available for your child/student:

AkolooLand: Birth - 5 years old will attend AkolooLand for both services, as repetition is encouraged for this age group.
KidsLife: 1-5 grades will attend KidsLife during the 9:30am service, and then transition to a special Volunteer Kid’s Room, with snacks, games, activities and more for the 11:00am service.
Fuse: Students in 6th - 8th grade are encouraged to serve/volunteer in an area of ministry or attend the main worship service with their parent/guardian during the 9:30am hour. The weekly Fuse Junior High service will be held at 11:00am in the Fireside Room.
