Josh Yang currently serves as the Marriage and Family Ministries Pastor, with the primary responsibility of providing counseling services. He also leads the DivorceCare and GriefShare classes, and teaches a psychology class at Christian Life High School.

Josh served as a missionary for more than seven years, and in 1992 began focusing on counseling and teaching. His degrees include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics as well as Master of Arts degrees in both Biblical Literature and Clinical Psychology. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling.

Prior to serving on staff at Rockford First, Josh served as an adoption and family counselor, psychotherapist, lead pastor, adjunct Bible college instructor, and was appointed as a home missionary to China, ministering to multicultural populations in inner-city Los Angeles and Taipei, Taiwan.

Josh was born in Taipei and immigrated to the United States in 1963 when he was only four years old and grew up in New York and New Jersey. He and his wife, Esther, have been married since 1987, and have four children: Matthew, Melissa, Jonathan, and Emily.
