“AkolooLand” is derived from the Greek word “Akolouthian”, which means “to follow and become a disciple of Christ”. AkolooLand is the ministry of Rockford First that serves infants through Kindergarten. Director Betsy Frost and her entire team strive to create a place where kids can have a great BIG life with a great BIG God. It’s a place where faith, imagination, and learning go hand-in-hand. It’s a place where loving God is cool and kids rule! The beginning stages of spiritual development are learning blocks that can help children discover early-on how much God loves them. Our nursery (Birth through 2 years) gives children the opportunity to grow in a loving and caring environment that teaches life lessons in a biblical model. Our pre-school guides children (3 – 5 years) into a safe and creative place that instills biblical concepts through age-specific learning.

From the early steps of infants to the active steps of preschoolers, AkolooLand provides a loving environment that is safe and God-centered. Our goal is to take young children on an unforgettable spiritual journey of never-ending discovery as they grow and develop in a nurturing environment. Each room is designed for age-specific learning to give your child the special attention they need and deserve. Little kids will discover engaging praise and worship, learn from interactive Bible lessons, and experience chapel times that will help them develop a love for God and others. Each AkolooLand team member is dedicated to giving each child the best experience in their growth process.

At Rockford First, we prioritize families. Please note that both a Family Room (near Stuart’s Coffee Company) and a Mother’s Room (near the “yellow wall” by the Kids Guest Check-in) are available during our morning worship service with a live feed and an atmosphere to accommodate your family’s needs.

Rockford First is excited to launch a brand new ministry, K2, specifically designed for children in Kindergarten through Second Grade! As Rockford First continues to grow and expand, we are making room for more kids!! Beginning Sunday, February 24, if you have a child who falls into this age range, you will bring them to the new K2 room instead of the KidsLife Auditorium. During K2, children will experience a large group setting with worship, Bible messages, games, small groups, and more! Please see the map below for directions to K2. Watch as kids blast-off to a whole new level of relationship with God. 3rd – 5th graders will engage in captivating environments filled with Bible lessons, worship, games, and fun. Kids will build relationships that will develop their faith, character, and purpose in life. At KidsLife, Director Betsy Frost and her entire team create settings that not only enable strong spiritual growth, but strong friendships with other students. Every week there will be a new, fun and creative experience designed just for kids as they grow in their walk with God. Our desire is to build a well-rounded spiritual foundation for children so they can be successful in every part of their growing relationship with God.

Each KidsLife service focuses on teaching children the “3 Basic Truths” every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52, “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.”

These 3 basic truths are:

1. I need to make the WISE choice.
2. I can TRUST GOD no matter what.
3. I should treat OTHERS the way I want to be treated.

Route 56 is a custom made ministry exclusive for kids in the 5th grade. These students along with members of the Kidslife and Fuse staff will meet every month on the third Sunday during the 11 a.m. main service. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” This is a roadmap that guarantees the right destination for every challenge on the road of life.

Route 56 is a place for preteens to:

1. Develop their relationship with Christ and other Christ followers

2. Discover the “why” behind “what” they believe … worship with peers
3. Experience live worship
4. Eat a homemade pancake breakfast

3rd Sunday of every month at 11:00am (Christian Life Elementary IMC)

If you like Kidslife on Sundays you need to check out our KidsLife Groups. These age-based groups meet every Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:15 pm in the KidsLife Auditorium. Every week, 1st through 5th graders meet in Life Groups with kids their own age to learn more about God’s word and our virtue of the month. With games, hands on activities, and incredible leaders your kids are bound to have an amazing time!

At Camp Kid Days your child will experience a God-centered and fun-filled week! For the entire month of July students going into 1st through 6th grade have the opportunity to build new things, be creative, design, and much more. Each week will have a new and exciting theme with a variety of activities and field trips.
