Hurricane Relief

The massive devastation left behind in the wake of Hurricane Sandy is overwhelming and the needs are beyond calculation…but there is hope. Churches and organizations across the country are coming together to help rebuild the lives and communities affected by this terrible storm. As part of the Love+Works campaign, Rockford First is partnering with the New York Dream Center and several local churches to bring much-needed supplies and aid to those who have been devastated by the storm in New York.

Thanks to the generosity of the people of Rockford First and the entire Stateline Community, we were able to send our first 26′ truckload, an SUV, and a 12′ trailer on Sunday, November 4th, packed full of relief supplies (including SIX GENERATORS), to the heart of the devastation in New York!

Because of the continued overwhelming outpouring of support, one truck couldn’t fit all of the donations…
…so on Tuesday, November 6th, thanks to Deb & Tim Palka of Palka Transport and their generous donation of a semi truck and trailer, all fuel, and drivers, we were able to send another truckload (a 53’ semi trailer) loaded with relief supplies to the New York Dream Center to be distributed to the people desperately needing them!!

FINANCIAL DONATIONS ARE STILL NEEDED!

The relief effort in the Northeast is far from over. It will be months and even years of rebuilding communities and lives affected by Hurricane Sandy. If you would like to make a donation to the relief effort, please click one of the links below. We will make sure 100% of the funds are used for relief efforts on the East Coast.
