Live entertainment by Steve Ditzell and The Blue Lightning Band.

Guitar slinger Steve Ditzell, who spent many years touring with Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, and Koko Taylor is influenced by Otis Rush's "Singing String" sound more than Stevie Ray Vaughan, yet prefers to keep the band rocking hard in the way the late SRV did. A-list sidemen Dave Kaye (bass) and Marty Binder (drums) have the firepower to make sure it does. His vocals are confident and never forced, showing the lessons he's learned over the years. His slide playing is sometimes haunting, other times frantic, exploring the microtones where Muddy Waters lived. Steve Ditzell and Blue Lightning Band's emotional involvement runs as deep as the delta, but with an energy level that lets you know you don't have to leave your dancing shoes at home.

Lead guitar and vocalist Steve Ditzell has played with many of the greats. From Big Mama Thornton to Stevie Ray Vaughan, A.C. Reed, and Fenton Robinson.. He has toured with Jr. Wells and Buddy Guy. Started playing in 1975 his credits are too numerous to mention in this short article on the band. Backed up by blues veterans like Dave Kaye, Marty Binder, Dan Noland and many others Blue Lightning is currently playing in the Chicago and area clubs as headliners - catch this great blues band.
